About two weeks ago myself and my group decided to change our song due to the fact that we did not feel the song we had would get us a good mark and we not did not feel 100% happy with what we were creating. At first i thought changing our song 3 weeks before the deadline was a very big risk as we would be left with very limited time to film new footage; however over looking our previous song and the work we had completed so far i could understand why the rest of the group were keen to change the song.
Our new choice of song is by Bat for Lashes called Moon and Moon. Kimberley has drawn the storyboard which we all are comfortable with. The story board focuses predominantly on narrative rather than performance, i find that this will give the music video more life and will captivate the audience more, make them want to carry on watching. The narrative aspect also fits in well with the slow tempo and solitary feel of the song.
The narrative focus' on a girl waiting for someone to come home. Initially you assume it is her boyfriend, however it is left ambiguous, the male character is introduced when he comes home and is greeted warmly by the girl. The latter part of the video is the couple together having a lovely time and then lastly as he leaves, she returns to a state of solitude and lovingness. With this idea, my group and i really wanted to capture how someone can feel so alone and dependant on another person. The previous song - we did not have a solid narrative, therefore changing the song and the storyboard gave us the oppurtunity to create a new, interesting narrative that we were all comfortable and more certain with.
The colour scheme will be muted and dark colours, reflected to cold, lonely feel of the music video. The props will be very minimal as too many props and objects would confuse the audience and would not fit in with the video.
Seeing as we have little time to complete this, we have decided to still use certain cut aways from the original video where kim is not singing as it fits perfectly well with the new song. Filming wise, Kim and Iva filmed at Iva's house last weekend, we now have all the footage needed s all that is left is for us as a group to edit and make the video as good as possible!
Now we have all the footage completed and we have already begun editing using previous footage from the previous song where kim is not singing, we now have little left to edit. Hopefully it will turn out as good as we hoped it would!

The lyrics to we wont run, are very meaningful and deep. it seems to me that this song means a lot to the artist, as though she went through a tough break up from a relationship. the lyrics "we wont run" could suggest that she doesnt want to run away from any thing, that she isn't afraid of the pain the break up might cause. It comes across that it is the man who is the one who left not the woman singing the song.
"Longing to leave, but begging to feel,

These lyrics could suggest that she doesnt want him to leave and at the same time wants there to be something that might possibly make him stay.

Album Cover Analysis 4
The album Angles by The Strokes is the bands fourth studio album. Since their previous released in 2006 this has been the bands longest gap to date between two albums.
From just looking at the cover the first time, you can get a sense of what kind of band the strokes are. The artwork is well known as "never ending stairs", in my opinion this could indicate that the band are only going to end up at the top in their career, they don't want to stop making the music they love and want to achieve as much as possible. Having art as their cover in a way is as though they do not want to let their identity out, which is a theme that has run throughout all their albums to date. This can also indicate that the band want to be known for their music only and not for what they look like, which also shows that they are not in it for the fame.

Album Cover Analysis 2 & 3
Beirut is an American band from Santa Fe, New Mexico. Originally the band was only a solo musical project of Santa Fe native Zachary Francis Condon, it then later expanded into a band. The band are classified under the genres of Indie folk, Indie rock and World music; their first performance was in New York in 2006. Since then the band have released three studio albums. Their first being 'Gulag Orkestar' released in May 2006.
As seen from the album cover it is clear that the band want to bring out their youthful side. This is clear by the fact that there are two good looking,well dressed,young adults and possibly a couple on the front cover. This could depict a time which (in their opinion) represents their youth, it possibly was a very memorable period for them as teenagers and could show how they loved that time and era, when everything was relaxed and everyone was freewilled. A car is also seen just behind the two, which could mean that they are about to go on a journey, and suggests that the band are hoping to go further with their career.
The style of the album cover is very vintage, which can also give us the message that that is their style and that is the crowd they want to please. The colours are not very bold, and do not stand out (as is the album title, which is very relaxing and in a way draws attention to the album as people then want to find out more about it.

Their most recent album 'The Rip Tide' is more stripped back, with nothing but the name of the album on the front cover with a dark green back ground -this could show us that they want to come across as being very laid back, and in someways not very in your face with a bold and eye catching album cover. This album cover in my opinion is mainly attracting people who are already fans of the band; however this does not mean that the band are not trying to attract new fans - because with a cover such as this can grab a lot of attention to new people with such a bold heading.

Album Cover analysis 1
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros are an American band formed of eleven members, with two lead singers: Alex Ebert and Jade Castrinos. The band were formed in 2007 and released their debut album 'Up From Below' in 2009.
The genre the band are labeled as is indie-pop, however some (such as lastfm.com) may add to that stating they are alternative-country and folk.
The bands vibe is very uplifting and easy going. In many ways they come across as being hippie, which is seen by their dress sense and their attitudes, which is very down to earth and freewilled.
Up From Below:
As seen through the album cover, the band come across as being very happy,light hearted, easy going and free - which can link in with the fact that they have a 'hippie' side to them. This can be portrayed through the colours used and the fact that they are leaping in joy, which could suggest that they are happy with their life, and they do as they please - they go around with no care in the world and are not ashamed of themselves in any way.
The colours of the album cover give us the impression that they are very humble. The colours suggest that the picture was taken in summer, which is seen through the warm colours (red/pink/orange) of the sunset and the silouette; in many ways it can give someone a sense of holiday and relaxation - which in my opinion that is what the band is all about, they are not the in your face/loud type of band, but a relaxing and easy going type, and that the songs on the album are quite peaceful - an album in which one would listen to whilst lying down or somewhere in peace.
The typography is not very big, however does stand out as it is in black - which in comparrison to the colours of the background stands out. It also stands out because of its font which is very unique and in some ways has an oriental feel to it.

Third Day of Filming
During the weekend we decided to film a few shots in central London (South Bank). We spent around two hours filming - from 2:30 to 4:30 - which was just the right amount of time for us to get all the shots we needed. We filmed until sunset, therefore we got the perfect, beautiful shots that can make our music video that much nicer.
The first thing we decided to shoot were the shots filmed on Embankment Bridge with our lead girl (Kim) standing in the middle of the bridge singing. Our reason for doing so was so we could work on our editing skills once finished, our idea for these particular shots is to have Kim as the center of attention with everyone walking around her in a faster pace to the song and the video - timelapse.
Other shots were to fill in the spaces in the music video. For example we took shots of the surrounding scenery, of the London Eye in the background, of St Paul's Cathedral and of the bridge itself.
Moving on from the bridge, we started shooting scenes along the embankment, with the lights in the background out of focus and the sunset in the surrounding background.
All in all, i feel as though our day was very productive; the music video is now nearly complete. At the moment, during lessons, we are in the middle of editing all the footage we have accomplished so far. Once all the editing has been completed, we only have a few more minutes left to film and we should hopefully have a good result and a good music video.

Born 23 September 1976, Sydney, New South Wales, Sarah Blasko is an Australian singer-songwriter and musician.
In 2002 her solo career kicked off, however from the mid 90s to 2002 she was the front singer for Sydney-based band Acquiesce. Mid solo career, 2007, she won the 'Best Pop Release' "for What the Sea Wants, the Sea Will Have" at the ARIA Music Awards, which also reached number 7 in the Australian charts. Later on in 2009 her latest album, As Day Follows Night, won the 'Best Female Artist' at the ARIA Awards. Blasko's music is classified as 'indie-rock' and 'indie-pop'; her biggest release to date is: "Seeker Lover Keeper" reaching number 3 in the Australian charts (the highest she has reached).
