Intertextuality in our music video

For our music video to be that bit more interesting we also looked into a way to include intertextuality. We chose to include this through the clothes and make up Kim would be wearing. We looked at iconic times and people and in particular things that set them apart from others. We looked at the era of the 40s-50s, focusing on iconic people such as Dita Von Teese. However realising it would be very difficult to do such a thing we relaxed the theme a little and went for the 70s and focused on Twiggy and her doe eye make up. Using this idea we wanted to bring out a British and iconic look for the artist, something original and unexpected.

Kim went and tried out the idea, however the testing failed as the make up was very difficult to put on and take off, and as a group we felt that if we did carry on using that idea it would not look high standard and in a way look a little bit silly. Having said that we decided to stick to a subtle 50s style. For example Marilyn Monroe in the film "Gentlemen prefer Blondes" which is very subtle but at the same time very stylish and classy, which is the look we are after.
