Lyric Analysis of new song choice.

Moon and Moon by Bat For Lashes

Lover, when you don't lay with me
I'm a huntress for a husband lost at sea
If I had you here
Braid our hair together
I'd be boy and you'd be girl
Beautiful

You imidiatly get the feeling that it's a one way relationship, as though the woman does not have any more control over the relationship. The line where it says "im a huntress for a husband lost at sea" gives me a feeling that he may disapear from time to time, she doesnt know where he has gone and tries to keep it together. The last line of the verse is like she wants a more dominant role in the relationship as it is usually the man who is the more dominant one in a relationship, so it is as if she wants to take over.

Calling moon and moon
Shoot that big bad hand
It'll drag me to your door
And I won't see you no more

When this wild world
Is a big bad hand
Pushing on my back
Do you understand?
When I get home
Been in the jungle
Where's my bear to lick me clean?
Feed my soul milk and honey

Calling moon and moon
Shoot that big bad hand
It'll drag me to your door
And I won't see you no more

I won't see you no more

It comes across as though throughout the song she wants her partner to love, protect and comfort and also respect her. She wants him to start acting like a partner, she wants him to be there for her - the same way she would be there for him. The whole song gives out a very personal touch.
